Trigger on display at Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Museum

Although we don’t usually discuss film and television performers on this blog, as the NPR piece makes clear, “Trigger was more than a movie star.”  Indeed, the former Golden Cloud made countless personal appearances on stage with Roy Rogers.

Last night, Trigger was sold at the New York auction house, Christie’s, to the highest bidder (Nebraska cable company, RFD-TV) for $266,500.  You can read a fuller account of the first day of this massive sale of materials dispersed from the former Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Museum (described by its auctioneer as an unusually “colorful, emotional and sentimental” event) here.

Will Bullet, Buttermilk and Trigger, Jr. remain together?
